Naturopathic Medicine is a health care system that uses modern science infomation with with traditional and natural forms of medicine. Naturopathy was made in the late 1800s in the United States. It is based on the healing power of nature. It also supports and stimulates the body’s ability to heal itself. In addition, it is an art and science of disease diagnosis, treatment and prevention. Not to mention, by using organic foods, it helps to improve health, prevent disease, and treat disease. It uses natural therapies. For example, botanical medicine, clinical nutrition, hydrotherapy and more.
Some people say it is used for o promote health, stop diseases, and treat illness. However, it actually used for rashes, allergies, and other common health problems.
Dr. Spogmai Hakimi HBSc, BEd, ND
Dr. Spogmai Hakimi is a board certified and licensed Naturopathic Doctor. She has attained her Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Life Sciences. Also, she got her Bachelor of Education degree from University of Toronto. Her combined passion for education and health led her to complete a four year doctorate program in Naturopathic Medicine. She did it at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine. Dr. Hakimi has served as an intern at various health care institutions. She interned at Robert Schad Naturopathic Clinic and Queen West Naturopathic Health Centre.Not to mention, that is just a couple of them. Dr. Hakimi has a lot of experience in this field.
In her primary care practice, Dr. Hakimi integrates her strong conventional diagnostic skills along with research proven natural therapies. As a result, she creates safe and effective individualized treatment protocols. The cornerstone of her treatment philosophy is to address the root cause of disease. This helped her acknowledg the interdependence of the body, mind, and spirit.
Dr. Hakimi has a family health practice with special focus on cardiovascular health, and weight management. Also, she has focus in digestive disorders, stress & anxiety, women’s health, and pain management. She uses an evidence-based approach in her practice along with Clinical Nutrition, Diet & Lifestyle changes, and Botanical Medicine. In addition, she uses it in Acupuncture, Homeopathy, and Counselling to optimize her patient’s health and well being.

Furthermore, Dr. Hakimi’s passion for education allows her to fulfill the principle of Doctor as a Teacher. Therefore, she takes an ample amount of time educating her patients. Dr. Hakimi helps her patients with the info about health and wellness with prevention of disease as the primary focus. She uses a holistic approach in her teaching. Dr. Hakimi serves as a facilitator in guiding others on their individualized health journeys. Her goal is to inspire them to embrace a more balanced vital life.
In addition to her private practice, Dr. Hakimi is also a teaching assistant for various courses at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine. Also, she is registered with the Board of Directors of Drugless Therapy – Naturopathy.
Dr. Hakimi is a long time resident of Burlington.
