But once a disc is damaged or torn, it loses its ability to maintain an adequate fluid intake and will become brittle and dry. This leads to further damage, inflammation, degeneration, and increased pain.

When Doctors Do Not Recommend Spinal Decompression

Spinal Decompression is not the right treatment for pregnant women, patients who have osteoporosis, severe obesity, or severe nerve damage. Spinal surgery with instrumentation (screws, metal plates, or cages) is also contraindicated.
